Personally, I find that last redesign a step backward. The original appears to aim for the clean elegance of a Didone sans, whereas the clipped tails pointing here and there introduce some Benguiat-s…2 -

Yes, but you can always revisit it later... and if your favorite idea is what motivated you to do type design in the first place, shelving it for later might just kill your motivation.2
